Juan Garcia, Member of the Public said in a stunning display of disrespect of the democratic process the Democratic Party of Dona Ana in my opinion forted the will of the people of the 53rd House District. After Hill’s primary victory with 58% of the vote and leaving Madrid with 42%, Hill’s tragic passing on August 16th should have automatically elevated Madrid as the rightful successor. This is what respect for the voters and common sense would dictate in a true democracy but that is not what happened. This handpicked candidate who received zero votes from the community failed to submit financial disclosure forms on time yet in the eyes of this party elite this glaring lack of accountability means nothing. What matters most to them is ramming their own preferred candidate down the throats of the voter and now they have the audacity to suggest that this subversion of democracy represents “the will of the people”.
