The Public Register

Who claimed what, and when — in an order nobody can quietly rearrange.

Checking the chain…

What this is, exactly

Every entry below carries the fingerprint of the entry before it. Change one, and every entry after it stops adding up — so a claim made in June cannot be edited in December without the damage being obvious to anybody who kept a copy.

It is not a blockchain, and we would rather say so than borrow the word. There is no network of strangers agreeing on this — there is one publisher, and that is us. Somebody who controlled this database could in principle rewrite the chain from an edited entry forward and republish the lot. What stops that is anchoring: every so often the head fingerprint is broadcast somewhere we cannot edit afterwards, which pins the record's state at a moment in public.

Some entries mention an address or an account we hold and do not publish. For those, only a fingerprint of the private half is here — enough to prove the record exists and has not changed, without putting somebody's email on the internet.

Do not take our word for any of this. Download the register and re-derive every fingerprint with nothing but SHA-256 — the file carries the recipe.
