Box 4 this week has covered the impact
of flock safety cameras in the Tennessee Valley,
and today we spoke to a Huntsville native who documents their location.
Will Freeman is the administrator of DFlock.me,
which allows the public
to document the location of FL cameras.
Friedman told Fox 54 that he believes the cameras are an invasion of privacy
and that cities should tell the public
where they will be located.
Freeman added that he believes current policies in place are not enough.
They can,
they can legally search it for whatever reason they want.
They can,
they can search it just because
they don't like this person.
Now,
that's against their policy,
most likely.
If I get access to their policies,
I expect that they pretty much all come from the same company.
Um,
but
policies are not law,
and,
uh,
yeah,
this gives them
basically unlimited access you perform
searches and collect data on anyone driving by.
Fox 54 has reached out to Flock Safety to discuss
the cameras and how law enforcement would use them,
and we have not heard back yet.
